Hi
Dave,
I’m
sorry I didn’t get to chat with you longer the other day. I wanted
to tease you about missing the weep hole covers on the side windows
of my slide-outs—twice. But, as it turns out—you were
right—even if for the wrong reason. I called Monaco for
another warranty part issue and asked about the weep-hole covers.
They said they had had a problem with these coming off and so they
started gluing them on. Then they found out that the weep-hole
covers were actually tearing the slide out seals and so now they
don’t put them on the slide out side windows at all. You were
right all along.
I love you guys. There is not a single thing not working on my
Scepter right now—a new record. Keep up the great work.
Sincerely,
Bruce Taylor

We have been RVing for years, first with a travel trailer, then the
gas Bounder, and now the Allegro. We have been to many RV
service centers through the years, but have never been treated as
well as at Apalachee. The others either couldn't handle all the
service needs of both coach and chassis, or didn't seem to care
about the customers. We really appreciate your communication
throughout the job, and especially going the extra mile's here at
the end to finish it up. I'm sure we'll find more to fix on our next
trip! You can be assured that we will come back to Apalachee RV for
all our future needs -- and we hope to be RVing for many years to
come!

For
anyone out there in the Metro-Atlanta area, I would like to share my
experience with Apalachee RV Service. I am very new to owning an RV
and had little if any knowledge about how things work and the
service that these complex machines required. Like many others, I
had to learn my lessen the hard way by dealing with a local
dealership that has 4 locations around Atlanta and is tied in with a
major camping goods retailer. Long story short, the service was
terrible and the workmanship even worse.
I was then introduced to Dave Kobos, the owner of Apalachee RV
Service. I have to tell you that I was blown away by the service
that he offers. The first thing Dave did was an extensive
examination of my coach and all of its features and systems. He
then put all of this information in his computer data base. He then
gave me a prioritized list of things that he felt he needed to
address on the coach and showed me things I could do myself.. Once
Dave and his staff went through and corrected the items on my list I
can honestly say that I drove away confident that my coach had been
serviced properly and felt secure in knowing that there were no
“surprises” waiting on me. To add to that sense of security, Dave
provides all of his customers with his personal cell phone so that
if you find yourself away from home and are having problems he can
try and assist you by diagnosing the problem over the phone. I have
never encountered service like this anywhere!
If anyone in the Atlanta area is looking for a good, honest company
to do business with, I recommend that you call Dave and listen to
how he values his customers. Dave and his staff are honest people
that seem to genuinely enjoy providing fantastic service to their
customers.

Dear Fellow RVers:
Ever taken a trip and made of a list of repairs needed on your RV on that trip, but dread taking your unit back to the dealer to let it sit on their lot for 6 weeks +? What about when you do take it back to the dealer lot and they talk to you as if you were a mechanic and then tell you it is going to be 6+ weeks?
All I can say is, we are glad that we found Apalachee RV early in our experience with our money pit RV. Every trip, we have a new list. Some small, some big - including when a rock truck dumped their load on our brand new RV and brand new Jeep. Apalachee has always made us feel that our RV was a priority and we have been beyond pleased with the repairs - some of which we have then turned around and broken again! Anyway, we will avoid dealer lots at all costs and always drive, no matter how far, to have our RV repaired at Apalachee RV.

Long Distance Service
I travel to service helicopters and need to be on site, on time, every time. On a Saturday afternoon in Deming New Mexico our motor home went down in a Wal-Mart parking lot. What a feeling, a thousand miles from home, on a tight schedule and no local folk that are even remotely interested in my situation till Monday. I remember the folk at Apalachee RV saying if I had problems call. It was already late in Atlanta and my wife had the courage to follow the answering machine directions when I couldn't. Dave was out to dinner with the family but took the call on his cell phone, and the time away to evaluate the situation. Having seen my coach only once before he knew what I would need, where to get it locally, and even gave some installation options. It wasn't an easy fix or repair by any means either, it was serious. We were back on schedule in hours rather than days. I can’t imagine any staff anywhere that takes their industry so seriously and professionally. One other thing, I think I will stick to helicopter repair and let Apalachee RV work on the RVs.

Apalachee RV is a godsend for me because they are near my home in Bethlehem. I have had 2 trailers that they have repaired for me with speed and efficiency, and the most recent repair saved our camping trip. I called Dave when the hot water heater was not working in my trailer, and my family was due to go camping the next day. Dave had me bring it in and back it into the bay. I didn't even have to leave the trailer with them, because in just a few minutes the problem was found and fixed. They didn't even charge for their time. The experience and customer service of the team at Apalachee is far better than any RV place I've ever been to. No matter how large or small the problem, Apalachee can handle it. Their way of doing things make sense and is superior to other dealership's method of just parking your RV and looking at it "when they have time." Dave understands what RV owners need and expect, and will be successful with this business for many years to come in my opinion. Thanks guys!

My experiences with Apalachee RV Center have been outstanding from the first time to the most recent. While tailgating for a couple of nights at the UGA football game, I had a rough experience. Because I had just bought a new RV, I didn't realize that I needed a pipe for my exhaust from the generator. Our alarms went off during the night. The next morning I found
an Apalachee card that was handed to me the day before. I called, told Dave the problem, and they came out to the game, in football traffic, to deliver and install the pipe system. That was huge!! Again, a second bad experience at the game. The coach battery went dead. Not good. I called Dave again. This time he sent his daughter, with a charger and extension cord, to get me up and running. Another save!!
If anybody knows RVs, the first few months after a purchase, you develop a punch list of things that need fixing up. Everything from tire alignment/balancing, to small rattle noises, to a couple of minor leaks. Plus, you might want to add some accessories, such as a new front mask. Well, after getting the runaround with delays and attitudes from the place I bought it, I took it to Apalachee. At Apalachee, there are NO DELAYS and NO ATTITUDES. Friendly service and a job done right (the first time). I know I might spend dollars that would have been covered under warranty, but what matters most is getting my RV up and running the way it is supposed to be. Dave – best of luck with your business. And, when you start selling coaches - my next upgrade will be with you!!
Thanks for the great service,
Matt B.

My dad was a full timer and bragged about the helpfulness of RVrs. Well, my husband and I got a sample of that on our long RV trip to Atlanta, Ga. While camped at a lovely lakeside spot in the north Georgia mountains, we heard a disconcerting noise from our power converter. A RV neighbor came over, offered his opinion and gave us info on two repair shops. The first well-established shop was backed up for a week. The second was newly opened by a long time mechanic, Dave, who had dreamed of having his own repair shop. We found Dave to be ever so knowledgeable about our 93 class A on a workhorse chassis. His mechanical knowledge impressed my husband, a retired mechanical engineer and do it yourself mechanic. Dave took us immediately and had our rig ready to go, as estimated, that day. Attention to detail was most appreciated: towels covering rig carpet and upholstery, clean restrooms and waiting room, politeness and courtesy. Additionally, this commercial FMCA member answered several questions about our rig that had stumped us. Dave even sent us a thank you note. We highly recommend Dave and wished he were closer to our home base in Texas.

There is nothing more important for a motor coach “newbie” like myself than to find a maintenance facility and people that you can trust. After a great referral from a friend, I decided to give Dave and the folks at Apalachee RV a try. The experience has been nothing short of outstanding. Everyone has been just super to work with, and very patient with all my questions and concerns. In using the coach for business related travel, it is imperative that it be in top working order at all times. Through the efforts of Dave and crew, I can have the peace of mind that allows me to focus on the truly important aspects of my work.
Thanks for all you do! You guys are the best!

About a year or so ago after what seemed like years of due diligence I purchased an Alpenlite 5th wheel with that perfect floor and the perfect amenities I wanted. Finding only two available east of the Mississippi I chose Atlanta over Pennsylvania as the place I wanted to do business and after returning home I learned that RV’s had become quite technology advanced and full of their own little quirks.
Little issues turned to major concerns and it wasn’t till I made a call to my dealer to discuss consignment sales options that I got to meet Dave Kobos. He was the newest service manager there and although we had not previously met he took the time to fully listen and evaluate each and every problem I had. Not only did his knowledge seem unsurpassed but also his ability to understand plan and explain things was soon obvious and he assured me there would be a resolve to every problem.
Those things I needed to learn he taught me over the phone and the major issues he took control of like a judge handing down a sentence to the various manufacturers. The amazing thing is the intricate plan of repair with all its parts logistics was able to come to fruition without a single fault and in just one visit to the dealership I had my dream RV back. Instead of wanting to sell it we were back to Nascar season visits of the south and back to enjoying camping on the beaches.
Later last summer after finding out he was released from employment we sought him out and had him visit us for a
NASCAR race in Darlington. The whole gang here was impressed to learn of his plans for a shop and although he didn’t even have the name picked then, it was his determination to plan a state of the art of facility with unsurpassed service that impressed us all.
Long story made short some of us went down to Atlanta for the grand opening and as his plans for my repairs were carried out each detail he had discussed at that race was already in place.
Congratulations to you Dave and thank you Steve and Guy for making our visit so nice.
The facility is well thought out and wonderful to visit. I am so glad you have made it your business to build a business to assist others in their RV adventures. Your Bulldog fans are lucky to have you so close.
Thank you and see you soon.

My husband and I have owned motor homes for many years. We met and got to know Dave Kobos many years ago. At that time, we were in need of service on the Ford Chassis on our 1996 Winnebago, when we had been unable to resolve our brake repair issues after numerous attempts. We sought out Dave because he had a reputation as one of the very best motor home chassis technicians. Dave worked diligently with Ford and with the warranty company to identify the vehicle's problem and recommended repair, and completed the repairs quickly and precisely.
Several years ago we sold the 1996 Winnebago and purchased a used 2000 Chinook. Before we agreed to purchase the Chinook, we had Dave Kobos perform a thorough examination of the vehicle. He found several items which needed to be attended to before we completed the purchase. He subsequently performed the chassis maintenance on the Chinook until he left his previous company.
Dave Kobos is an incredibly intuitive, extremely competent and trustworthy mechanic and rv consultant. We wouldn't invest in another motor home without Dave's guidance and input. He has a wealth of knowledge and history in the industry and we are pleased to take advantage of his experience.
We wish Dave well in his new opportunities ahead at Apalachee RV.
Sincerely,
Tina M. A Atlanta, Georgia _____________________________________________
